Sewing 101

I just signed up for a beginner's sewing class. I am very excited! I see all of these wonderful things that fellow bloggers are creating and I feel left out. Plus, Jeff got me a new sewing machine a few years ago for Christmas and I have no idea how to use it. It seems like such a shame to have it just sitting there not being used.

Some of the reasons that I would like to sew: I want to make Halloween costumes rather than buy them. I want to do fun projects with the kids. I want to hem my own pants. I want to make curtains. The possibilities are endless!

I have to pick a project to make and now I can't think of anything! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I can cross this off of my list of Things I Want To Do For Fun.

  2. Perhaps, you've already started the class, but maybe not.

If you obtain the book "In Stitches" by Amy Butler, she has a fantastic pattern for Lounge Pants which EVERYONE in blogland has tried their hand at making from thrifted bed sheets.

I made each of us a pair for "camping" last year.

    It was a hoot.
