In The Mail

I am in the process of getting a "Letter Writing Centre" set-up for the girls, but have yet to find a permanent place to put everything.

I was inspired by the Playful Learning blog and book, and then I happened to notice that Pink and Green Mama did something similar a few days ago. We currently have most of our supplies in baskets so I brought the baskets out last weekend. I wanted the girls to write cards to family and pen pals. Both girls got special note cards for Christmas and they used up most of them at once! I got "H" and "A" note cards from Michael's in the $1 bins. That is a fantastic place to get letter writing supplies - always so inexpensive (the $1 bins, I mean, not the rest of the store)!

Letter writing in progress.

I got those colourful note cards from Talize.
Again, they were really inexpensive!

A bunch of cards ready to go, complete with LOTS of stickers!

I finally got a chance to mail everything a few days ago.
Hmmm....I wonder where the letters are headed?

I would still like to set-up an area that has the paper, note cards, stamps and address labels all ready to go so that the girls are inspired to write to people more often. Perhaps that will be my goal this weekend.

I will post again once I have a permanent centre up and running.

  1. This is such a great idea Trish. I want to try and do something similar here, as I am sure the girls would be more inspired to write if everything was in front of them.

And Sofie did get Heather's last letter, and will respond shortly. She is loving having a Canadian pen pal.
