My Favourite Christmas Gift

In the months before Christmas, I was often walking to school my 3 kids, plus an additional 4 kids. Of those 7 kids, there were usually 5 kids that wanted to hold my hands en route. Naturally, I couldn't accommodate 5 hands in my own 2 hands, so we often had to take turns. "Okay, Addie and "I" can hold my hands until we get to the busy road, but after we cross then Lauchy and "S" get a turn".  And so on!

There were several times that I joked that the kids should get me some extra hands for Christmas.  Wouldn't it be perfect if I just had a few more hands?  That would make everything so much simpler!

On Christmas morning, I opened up this gift from Heather:

I admit that I didn't know what it was at first and had to carefully ask her about it.  Heather said, "It's an extra hand, Mom.  Remember how you said you wished you had some extra hands?"

I thought that was the most thoughtful gift ever!  What a sweetheart to remember something that I had asked for, even if in a joking way!
