We saw this sign last weekend and I thought the wording was
funny, especially "smuts". This was on a sign for the steam train.
We pass this brick wall every day on the way to school but I only recently noticed this sign. I thought it was a joke at first, but apparently there really is anti-climb paint. It is a thick, oily paint which keeps the surface greasy and slippery. It should only be applied at a certain height, usually 8 ft above the ground, and if touched it leaves a mark on the person who touched it.
Jeff and I have been trying to have lunch dates every Wednesday so that we don't have to pay for a babysitter. This week we went to St. Nicolas Market. According to the web page the market is "a vibrant, thriving market housing Bristol's largest collection of independent traders". It is a neat place to have a wander. I am sure I will be back there again soon.
We had these amazing falafel balls, salad, and pita for lunch.
I am trying out a new cider every
Wednesday, too. This one was really tasty!
This is how I have been finding Lauchy's uniform every
day after school. He is leaving it on the floor, but it is "folded".
We were all thrilled to receive this parcel from a family we know back home. It was the highlight of the week for everyone and included goodies and lovely letters!
Thank you SO much to the F Family!
We loved it and will be sending something your way soon!
Heather wanted to dress "fancier" today just in case she is chosen as the "Star Of The Week" and has to go to the front at the assembly. She also wanted to try out her new knee socks. Notice the photobomber in the background?
Lauchy and I saw this at school today.
We had a lot of thunder, lightening and heavy rain last night,
but when I looked out the window this morning I saw this:
Last night all 81 Gromits were auctioned off for a total of £2.3 million! That money will be used to expand Bristol Children's Hospital. I am so glad that we got to see the Gromits while we were here.
Tickets for the Glastonbury Festival go on sale this Sunday and I thought it would be really cool to go. When else will we have the chance to go to this? We could likely get grandma to mind the kids and it is very close to Bristol. The most exciting part is that Mumford and Sons will be performing on the last day. I was so disappointed to learn that the cost of one ticket is £210! That would be £420 for Jeff and I to go. Sadly, that is just way too much money! It is estimated that 1 million people will be trying to get tickets this Sunday. Crazy!
Grandma Anne will be heading to Canada soon so she is coming to spend the night and do something with us tomorrow. We are still not sure what we will do, but the weather looks like it will cooperate!
Have a great weekend!
